What is Interoperability?
Ahmed Hirani
Vice President, Sales and Marketing for BASE Controls Ltd.
Toronto, Ontario.
Ahmed graduated from Ryerson with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He
has extensive knowledge in building automation systems, LonWorks/LonMark,
BACnet, systems integration and enterprise solutions. He is actively
involved with the LONmark interoperability association, the Engineering
Council for Alerton Technologies, Invensys Independent Field Representative
Council, and the emerging BAJA (Building Automation Java Standard) open
framework.

Avi Baidya
Interoperable Systems Marketing for Trane Building Automation
Systems St. Paul, Minnesota.
Avi graduated from The University of Warwick,
Coventry England with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Engineering
Science and from The University of West London, England with a Diploma in
Marketing. He has been involved with developing sales support, marketing
and global strategies for Trane for the last 5 years. In addition Avi
responsibilities include development and training for BAS customers and
employees throughout the US.
Integrating Building Systems
Chris Hollinger
Product Manager of Integrated Systems for Siemens Building
Technologies. Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
Chris is responsible for the
development of integrated building drivers, applications, and solutions to
help customers manage their buildings more efficiently as well as reduce
operating expenses. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the
University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and a Master of Business
Administration degree also from the University of Illinois at
Urbana/Champaign. Chris is a member of ISA, and has authored several
articles and case studies on integrated building systems.
How to specify interoperable systems
Terry W. Hoffman
Global Products Marketing Manager. Johnson Controls,
Inc.
Terry graduated from Marquette University with a BS Degree in Electrical
Engineering and from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with an MS Degree
in Engineering Management. He is a Senior Member of AEE and served for
three years as the Johnson Controls representative to the LonMark
Interoperability Association Board of Directors. Terry has written numerous
articles for trade and technical publications. He serves as Adjunct
Professor for International Business in the graduate program at the
Milwaukee School of Engineering.
